Dutia, Grewal Global Impact Award aims to inspire entrepreneurs, innovators

Jas K. Grewal (left) and Suren G. Dutia have established the Global Impact Award in the Skandalaris Center for Entrepreneurial Studies. The endowed fund will receive $1 million, and another $25,000 will fund awards made this academic year. The awards will support business ventures aimed at catalyzing social change. Applications are due March 24.

New toolkit developed to help evaluate Open Streets initiatives

Open Streets initiatives — the opening of streets normally reserved for vehicle traffic to temporarily allow cycling, walking, dancing and socializing — are growing in the U.S. Now, thanks to researchers at the Brown School, a toolkit is in place to help communities and organizers measure their positive impact.

WU physicians certified in new medical subspecialties

Ten WUSTL physicians recently became certified in new medical subspecialties — five in clinical informatics and five in emergency medical services. Board certification exams were offered for the first time in each subspecialty last fall.

School of Law faculty joined in a special moot court program last month to help attorneys prepare for — and students better understand — a landmark intellectual property case that the Supreme Court will consider this month.
